Yes! In fact, we love hearing from proactive, motivated professionals about how they can contribute to our team. Send us an email to submit a speculative application.
We look at an applicant’s skills, background, and experience as a complete package, because we know that every person possesses a unique ability to make meaningful contributions to our team. However, successful applicants tend to be demonstrably inquisitive, creative, and forward-thinking in their respective field, and usually have a superior talent for learning quickly and managing their time effectively.
Receipt of your application will be confirmed within 24 hours after you apply. If you’ve been selected to begin the interview process, you should hear from us within a few days. Exact timelines for progression through the interview process vary for each role and applicant, and take into account availability of individual candidates and any logistical accommodations that can accompany conducting interviews remotely.
If you would like to withdraw an application, it’s as easy as sending us an email. Withdrawing an application will have no bearing on any future applications you may submit to xDesign.
All applicant data is retained In line with current GDPR guidelines. Your application will be kept on file for six months following your initial application, unless you specifically request otherwise.
We conduct our interviews virtually and don’t have any plans to change that process at this time.
The interview process is different for every role, but generally, you’ll meet with between one and four people from the team to which you’ve applied, in one-on-one or panel settings. You will always meet your manager, and you may also be introduced to other team members that you can expect to work closely with at xDesign. Our interview process is thorough, but comfortable. Interviews are our chance to get to know each other, and so we treat them like conversations. We fully expect that you’ll have questions for us, just as we have questions for you.
If you’re applying to an engineering or design role, you will be asked to complete a take-home assignment or exercise as part of your skills and technical assessment. Other roles may require skills assessments, and we try to be up front about this early on in the interview process. The amount of time required to complete an assessment varies from role to role, but if you’re asked to complete one, you’ll be given all the necessary details before you get started.
We know it’s stressful waiting to hear back after applying for a new job, so we try to respond quickly. Generally, we aim to inform applicants whether they’ve been successful within 24-48 hours following their final interview. If we have any follow-up questions or learn of anything that might delay our response, we will let you know as soon as possible. Similarly, if you have any questions for us or learn of anything that might impact your ability to take on a role at xDesign following your final interview, please let us know as soon as you can.
We think it’s a pretty great place to work. It’s a fast-paced environment, and we push ourselves to work hard and deliver incredible products, but we also celebrate our successes together and genuinely enjoy what we do. We treat each other with respect, and we trust that everyone will manage their time and complete their work. We encourage people to take care of their health and wellbeing, and we’ve worked hard to create a trusting, comfortable environment for everyone. We value honest communication and we’re always trying to find new ways to help everyone feel included, appreciated, and supported.
There sure are! In the past, we’ve hosted pub quiz nights, escape rooms, running clubs, murder mystery dinners, bingo, and hobby nights as after-work activities. Events are always optional, and there’s no pressure to stick around after work to participate. We keep the kitchen stocked with free soda, water, coffee, tea, and snacks, and we have table tennis set up for fun and a little friendly competition!
We do! We appreciate that flexible and remote work options are necessary, so we don’t mandate that anyone be in the office. To facilitate remote or hybrid work options, team meetings and 1:1 support is available remotely to anyone, in any role. You’ll work with your team and manager to work out your exact schedule.
Personal development plans are integrated into all roles from day one. To encourage consistent communication and facilitate ongoing development support, we ensure that every team member has a direct line manager and access to 1:1 support whenever necessary, and team check-in meetings are regularly scheduled for all employees. We work hard to provide the right support and resources for everyone to succeed.
Absolutely. We want to build a workplace that includes people from different backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life. We value every individual’s unique perspective and point of view, and facilitating more diversity and greater inclusion within our teams is something we’re committed to as we move forward and grow.
